Join The Journey of Journaling
A Notebook, A Pen, Your Thoughts
I hope to share some writing prompts and encouragement to anyone interested in starting a personal journal. All you need is a notebook, a pen, and your thoughts.
Yes, you could do your journal on your computer but a journal in your own notebook is more fun. Plus it's so much easier to take with you anywhere and everywhere that you go. Plus your own creative thoughts in your very own handwriting make a journal far more personal and unique.
Be Brave. Grab a notebook and pen. Join me on the journey of your life, your own personal journal.
Be Open, Be True, Be You
This is a great journey. It is an opportunity to explore and find the real you. Be open and try to approach many questions. Be true to yourself with your answers. You be you. I will be me.
Each of us are as unique and as different as our hand prints. Different journeys have made us who we are. Where we live, how we feel, what we think, and the why of it all makes our memories our very own. Journaling is one way of passing along those memories to the ones that we love.
Have no fear, no rules here. Correct spelling. scratch outs, poor grammar are just fine. If you are brave you can even add a doodle or two. You don't have to tear out and scrunch up pages. Those pages give an opportunity to add photos, pictures from magazines or even a collage of items. Like sprinkles on a cupcake, those little items can add an extra texture and impact to your journal.
Remember this is your journal about your journey, so have some fun.
What To Write About?
Don't Fear The Blank Page
Well, you have your notebook, your pen and a blank page. What do you write about? Anything you want to, is the best answer. This is your opportunity to think, write and share the real you.
I grew up writing in a "Dear Diary" and hiding it under my bed from peering eyes. Now that I'm older, notice I didn't say wiser, I find journaling far more fun and interesting.

The Benefits of Journaling
Why Start A Journal?
The benefits of journaling will often be revealed when you start and what kind of journal you keep.
Journaling can :
Be a method of venting about a problem.
Help you set goals.
Get to know yourself better.
Help share memories with your children.
Pass on family heritage, traditions, recipes, photos etc.
And so much more...
A picture may be worth a thousand words but a journal can share events and stories that a camera can't capture.
On Your Journey Yet
I Hope So
Please be encouraged to journal about yourself. Every person has a story to tell, a memory to share, a recipe to pass on, a fishing tip, maybe even a secret.
No need to get discouraged. Remember there aren't any rules written in stone. There's no hurry so you don't have to journal everyday. Take some time and think about your topic and even take notes through the week. If you feel your time is limited, you might try setting an appointment once a week.
